Cybercriminals no longer only chase bank tellers or IT departments; they target directors’ emails, compromise board packs (thanks to online portals), and exploit governance blind spots. One breach at the board level can wipe out years of strategy, erode market trust overnight, and invite regulatory wrath.
This is why every serious board must treat cybersecurity not as an IT issue, but as an existential governance responsibility. The chair must insist, and directors must equip themselves with the tools, language, and foresight to lead. The same applies to EXCOs.
